Tal,
I'm holding the First Anual Gorean lifestylers gettogether for UK
Lifestylers next spring or summer in the UK, anyone interested in
attending let me know.. (I've just started to plan it so any ideas on
what you would like to see there would be welcome) I'm planning an
open buffee (or barbeque) with wine singing, dancing, a Kajira contest
(see who has the best trained girl), archery, battle reinactments
etc. there must be lots we can do...Gorean dress required (historic
costumes roman/greak style depending on which citystate is your
homestone)

Any ideas on how to make this a great event, let me know (i'm
flexable on any aspect of it at the moment. Or people wishing to
help organise it also welcome.

As far as I know, "historic costumes roman/greak style" were never a
traditional mode of dress in Washington DC, which is where my
citystate's Home Stone would be if it had one.

Gorean lifestyle is not synonymous with Gorean roleplay. Someone can
(and in fact, many someones do) live a completely Gorean lifestyle
without ever once dressing up in a tunic or toga. It sounds like what
you're looking for is a day of classical-ages-themed costumed
hedonism, which is absolutely fine but doesn't necessarily have much
to do with an actual real-world modern-day Gorean lifestyle.

Gor is not about pretending to be where, when, or what you are not; it
is about reveling in where, when, and what you are.

Have you never been to a facy dress party? There fun, dressing up would
make the day so much more fun.. which is what the day is about..

If the day is about dressing up and having fun, then it would be more
accurate to call it the "First Annual UK Gorean-Themed Costume Party".
As I said in my previous post, I have nothing against costume parties,
but it's incorrect to assume that everyone who lives a Gorean
lifestyle enjoys costume parties and also incorrect to assume that
everyone who would enjoy attending your costume party lives a Gorean
lifestyle. There is some overlap between the two groups but they are
by no means synonymous.
